Ocean Optics Summer Class

Ocean Optics Summer Class: Calibration and Validation of Ocean Color Remote Sensing

10 July – 5 August 2017, at the Darling Marine Center in Maine, USA
An intensive four-week, cross-disciplinary, graduate-level course in Optical Oceanography will be offered at the University of Maine’s Ira C. Darling Marine Center in summer 2017. This class is a continuation of the Optical Oceanography course first offered at the Friday Harbor Laboratories in 1985 and more recently at the Darling Marine Center. Past graduates are many of today’s leaders in oceanography. 

 

PhD in Climate change impacts and differences between plankton communities in the North Pacific and North Atlantic oceans, SAFHOS (UK)

As part of the SPITFIRE DTP programme, the PhD Student will be registered at the University of Southampton but be hosted by the Sir Alister Hardy Foundation for Ocean Science - SAHFOS (Plymouth). Using the large biological datasets, the student will examine the taxonomic and functional group differences between the North Atlantic and North Pacific, and on different temporal scales.

2017 SCOR Visiting Scholars Program 

SCOR has issued a call for applications for the 2017 SCOR Visiting Scholars Program. The announcement can be found at http://www.scor-int.org/SCOR_CB/Call_for_2017_SCOR_Visiting_Scholars.pdf.

 

Applications are due by 30 November 2016. SCOR will support three Visiting Scholars in 2017. Applications are welcomed from potential Visiting Scholars as well as institutions wishing to host a Visiting Scholar.
