Marie Tharp Fellowship 2012-2013

The Earth Institute and Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University invite applications for the Marie Tharp Fellowship 2012-2013. This fellowship is part of a greater EI/LDEO effort at promoting the advancement of women in science. The purpose of the award is to provide an opportunity for earth scientists to conduct research at Columbia University for a period of 2-3 months. 

IOCCG Summer Lecture Series

The IOCCG will be conducting a series of advanced training courses dedicated to high-level training in the fundamentals of ocean optics, bio-optics and ocean colour remote sensing. It is anticipated that these advanced training courses will take place every two years during the summer months. The first in the IOCCG Summer Lecture Series will take place at the Laboratoire d’Océanographie de Villefranche (LOV), in Villefranche-sur-Mer, France from 2 – 14 July 2012. IMBER ClimECO3 Summer School

The deadline for the next IMBER Summer School has been extended to 15 March 2012. This will be the third in the successful ClimECO series. While maintaining the general topic of climate change and marine ecosystems, ClimECO3 extends the modelling of end-to-end marine food webs to include the human dimension, considering A view towards Earth System models: Human-natural system interactions in the marine world.
