Cornell Satellite Remote Sensing Summer Course

A two-week summer training course (June 1-15, 2012, Ithaca New York) is being offered once again to marine scientists who have modest or no prior experience with satellite remote sensing techniques. The course is highly methods-oriented and intended to give participants the practical skills needed to work independently to acquire, analyze and visualize large data sets derived from a wide variety of ocean satellite sensors.

DISCO XXIII & PODS VII Meetings

The DISCO XXIII and PODS VII meetings will be held in Lihue (Kaua’I), on October 7-11, 2012.  These symposia provide recent graduates, or soon to graduate PhD-level oceanographers in the fields of chemical oceanography (DISCO) and physical oceanography (PODS) with an opportunity to present their dissertation research in front of their professional peers and to forge professional relationships that will facilitate their future research and academic careers.

Leopold Leadership Program - 2013 Fellowships

The Leopold Leadership Program invites midcareer academic environmental scientists from North America (Canada, Mexico, and the United States) to apply for the 2013 Leopold Leadership Fellowships. The Leopold Leadership Program provides researchers with the skills, approaches, and theoretical frameworks for translating their knowledge to action and for catalyzing change to address the world’s most pressing sustainability challenges.
