Training by other Organisations

There are many organisations and institutes that offer training in marine science, whether it is for undergraduate or graduate students or post-doctoral scientists. Here are some resources to help you find training opportunities, and learn more about the capacity building efforts of different organisations. 

Graduate Schools

Many of the POGO member institutions run graduate schools as part of their educational programmes. Some of these are listed below. If you would like to add a graduate school to the list, please contact the POGO Secretariat.  

 

Studentship Opportunities in Southern Ocean Carbon and Climate Research

The Southern Ocean Carbon and Climate Observatory (SOCCO) is a CSIR-led, multi-institutional South African initiative aiming to understand the link between climate and the carbon cycle in the Southern Ocean.

2 PhD Positions in Marine Ecology and Marine Microbiology at GEOMAR, Kiel

GEOMAR is seeking a highly motivated and excellent candidates owning a Master’s or Diploma degree for the following 2 PhD positions in Marine Ecology and Marine Microbiology starting September 1st, 2012 (provided funding is granted). Please see the attachment below for detail.

IODE-OceanTeacher: Applications open for the OTA DM Training Course: Marine and Coastal Atlas Development

The IODE OceanTeacher Training Course in Marine and Coastal Atlas Development will be held in Ostend, Belgium, between 5-9 November 2012. The period for applications is open between 18 June and 20 July 2012. Please see the attachment below for details.
