Shipboard training: two positions available for EUROFLEETS2, RV L'Atalante Graco survey, CSIC (Spain)

As part of the training activities of the Eurofleets2 program, 2 berths are offered out on-board the RV L'Atalante to enable postgraduate students (Masters and Doctoral) to participate in the Eurofleets2 GRACO research survey. The cruise will take place from 22nd September to 1st October 2016, leaving from Cadiz and ending in Cadiz.


A total of 2 positions are available on-board for European postgraduate students in the following disciplines:

OA-ICC Training Course on Ocean Acidification, 5-10 September 2016, Ensenada, Mexico

The Ocean Acidification International Coordination Centre (OA-ICC) is organizing a training course on ocean acidification, which will be held in Ensenada, Mexico, on 5-10 September 2016. The training course is open for participants from Latin America and the Caribbean. The training will include lectures in plenary sessions and hands-on experiments in smaller groups.

Call for Applications: Master's program in Marine Ecosystem based Management and Climate Change, Nha Trang University, Vietnam

Multidiciplinary Masters degree programme in Marine Ecosystem Management and Climate Change is offered at Nha Trang University. The programme is of high quality, applying current  world knowledge in marine ecosystems mananagement and climate change. This programme is a collaboration involving several well-known universities (University of Tromso and University of Bergen, Norway; University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka) in addition to affiliated universities (Auburn University, USA; Bogor Agricultural University, Indonesia and others in Asia Pacific).

SOLAS Science and Society Workshop, 26-27 Oct 2016, Brussels

The Surface Ocean – Lower Atmosphere Study (SOLAS) project is pleased to announce that a free workshop on the topic of `SOLAS Science and Society` will take place in late October this year. The workshop will bring together researchers in the field of ocean-atmosphere interactions and social scientists. One of the goals of Future Earth, the newest SOLAS sponsor, is to more tightly couple science and society. 

UGent Blue Growth Summer School, 12 - 23 September 2016 Ostend, Belgium

The UGent Blue Growth Summer School provides holistic training in several blue growth domains: the maritime module covers blue energy and coastal engineering, while the marine module covers aquaculture, marine ecosystems and societal benefits, multi-use platforms and marine spatial planning.
