Call for proposals: DOC2AMU doctoral programme, Aix-Marseille University, France - deadline 24 June 2016

Opening of the first call for applications to Aix-Marseille University’s COFUND DOC2AMU international doctoral programme. 

The program is targeted to promote international exchange: candidates are eligible if they have not resided or carried out their main activity in France for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the date of application.


Applications for doctoral projects in the following disciplines will be considered: Climate change; Imaging; Nano-Health; Big data; Network; Globalization;

 

World Oceans Day is June 8th

Organized by The Ocean Project, this day of worldwide celebration of the Ocean, first established in 1992 at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has grown significantly since its official recognition byt the UN in 2008.

Call for nominations for the new IMBER Scientific Steering Committee Members

Monday 23 May is the deadline to submit nominations for new IMBER Scientific Steering Committee members.
 
We are looking for people with expertise in the following areas:
marine sustainability science
marine policy/governance science
integrated modelling of social and marine ecological systems
biodiversity/adaptation science
communication (ocean literacy)

Alfred Wegener Institute: Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) is cordially invited to consider becoming a Participating University in the proposed WCCC Scholarship Program

University Registration for the World Climate Change Challenge, under & post graduate Scholarship Program for students from Developing Countries wishing to undertake climate mitigation & adaptation fields of study, at a world class international university is closing on Wednesday May 11th. Germany contributed USD1 billion to the Green Climate Fund, which was established to assist Developing Countries further develop their capacities to fight climate change.

Review of SCOR Working Group Proposals

11 proposals were submitted for consideration as new SCOR working groups and are now available for review.  The proposals can be downloaded individually and in a compiled set of proposals from the meeting Web site at http://www.scor-int.org/Annual%20Meetings/2016GM/SCOR_GM_2016.html. Rev... are due to Ed Urban, SCOR Executive Director, by 1 August 2016.
