Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Bigelow Laboratory

Bigelow Laboratory invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to study the influence of ocean acidification on the biological processes that govern the concentrations and hence emission, of dimethyl sulfide (DMS) in the surface oceans. The work is associated with a recently funded NSF-project involving large-scale experiments on natural waters, with a focus on identifying the key processes involved and understanding the extent to which they may change in the future.

Ocean/Ice Modeller at the British Antarctic Survey

The British Antarctic Survey are seeking to appoint an Ocean/Ice Modeller. Based in the Polar Oceans programme, the postholder will join a team investigating ocean and ice variability in the Southern and Arctic oceans.

Rare and Overlooked Microbial Eukaryotes (ROME, financed by the French National Research Agency, under the direction of Télesphore Sime-Ngando)

Professor/Associate Professor/Lecturer, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China

SJTU recently formed the Institute of Oceanography (IOO), and is seeking qualified candidates to fill positions at all ranks.  The IOO will take the advantage of existing excellences in mathematics, engineering and computer sciences at SJTU to develop strengths in areas of observational physical, chemical and biological oceanography, and related ocean engineering and technologies.  Specific research areas include physical, chemical and biological oceanographic processes, biogeochemical cycling, ecosystem dynamics, climate change, deep sea life processes, underwater sensors, platforms, and information systems.

Postdoc opportunity in Chemical Oceanography (stable nitrogen isotopes) at GEOMAR

The Collaborative Research Centre (Sonderforschungsbereich) 754 “Climate-Biogeochemistry Interactions in the Tropical Ocean” (www.sfb754.de) invites applications for a
scientist in the research unit Chemical Oceanography of the research division Marine Biogeochemistry at the GEOMAR Helmholtz-Zentrum für Ozeanforschung Kiel (www.geomar.de).
