Scientist Position in Climate Change and Stress Biology of Marine Invertebrates, GEOMAR, Kiel, Germany

 

The GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel is offering a Scientist position in Climate change and Stress Biology of marine invertebrates starting on October 1st, 2017 and ending on March 31st, 2021 in the research unit “Benthic Ecology” of the research division “Marine Ecology”.

Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) will apply a new mission and strategic goals from January 1st 2017 onward. Due to the lofty ambitions of these new targets, the initiative has led to the creation of eight job vacancies.

The eight roles are:

Post-Doctoral Position at GEOMAR, Kiel, Germany

The scientist position is available in the research unit Marine Meteorology and the working group “Climate Modelling”. The goal of the position is to couple the atmosphere model IFS (Integrated Forecasting System) developed at the EZMWF with the ocean model NEMO to study internal and externally forced climate variability. The coupled model also will be applied to study seasonal to decadal climate predictability. Moreover, comparisons with other climate models will be performed.
