SOLAS calls nominations for its Scientific Steering Committee

SOLAS’ aim is to understand the key biogeochemical-physical interactions and feedbacks between the ocean and atmosphere. Achievement of this goal is crucial to understand and quantify the role that ocean-atmosphere interactions play in the regulation of climate and global change. In 2014, SOLAS is celebrating its 10 years anniversary and currently planning its next phase (2015-2015).

For more information on the project, please check our website www.solas-int.org <http://solas-int.org.customers.tigertech.net/nltrack.php?link=2451457>.

The overall scientific guidance on all aspects of SOLAS activities is provided by the Scientific Steering Committee (SSC). The SSC functions as the central decision-making body for SOLAS, and sets the scientific direction and priorities of the project. The SSC is supported by the SOLAS International Project Office in its tasks and is composed of about 15 mid-career and senior scientists from a broad spectrum of disciplines and nationalities. Members are appointed for a 3-year term, renewable once and meet in person at least once per year to address SOLAS issues. More info at www.solas-int.org/community/scientific-steering-committee.html
