The IOLS aims to be a common, shared measurement tool which can be used to determine the impact of particular interventions, to establish a baseline of Ocean Literacy in particular communities, to detect changes in Ocean Literacy levels in particular communities over time, and to compare differences in levels of Ocean Literacy across communities.
Version 4 of the survey (hopefully the final version!) is ready for testing, and the research team is asking teachers/educators to participate by administering the survey to students 15-17 years old.
This test version is available in 12 languages (Catalan, Chilean, Chinese, Dutch, English, Greek, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Tagalog), and at least 200 respondents in each language are needed to be able to analyse the data. The deadline for inclusion in this analysis is 22 March 2019.
