Faculty Position(s) in Estuarine/Marine Microbial Ecology

The Horn Point Laboratory of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science is seeking a highly qualified individual specializing in marine microbial ecology. Candidates whose research integrates field and laboratory work and who have experience in marine and/or estuarine microbial processes applied to understanding planktonic food-web processes and biogeochemical cycles are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded research program, to participate actively in graduate education, and to collaborate across disciplinary boundaries. The appointment will be tenure track with 9-month support.  Preference will be given to candidates at the Assistant Professor level, and there is a strong possibility of more than one faculty hire in complementary fields of microbial ecology. Review of applications will begin 9/1/2013. A letter of application, curriculum vitae, statement of research and graduate teaching interests, copies of three most relevant publications and contact information of three academic referees should be e-mailed to: microecoposition@umces.edu.
